Lookout Mountain
Old CCC stonework switchbacks down to a seasonal falls. Best in the week after a good rain, quiet almost any weekday.
Signal Mountain
A gentle circuit past a swinging bridge and an old reservoir. The easiest introduction to the mountain for kids or a slow morning.
North Shore
The city's closest real trail network — a wooded loop with a skyline overlook you can reach on a lunch break.
Rising Fawn, GA
Six hundred metal stairs down to two falls, and the same six hundred back up. Worth every one of them — start early on weekends.
Signal Mountain
A rocky out-and-back along the gorge rim on the Cumberland Trail. Exposed sections, big payoff, no shade at midday.
