What To Do InChattanooga
A potter shaping clay by hand

Our mission

Send People to the
Small Guys First.

This guide exists to point attention and money toward the independent businesses that give this city its character.

Chattanooga is a small city that keeps getting discovered, and discovery has a way of flattening a place.

The listicles that show up when you search for this city tend to point at whoever paid to be pointed at. Meanwhile the couple who have run the same kitchen on the Southside for eleven years never make the page, because they were busy running a kitchen.

We take no money from the businesses listed. Not now, not later.

So this is a deliberately small, deliberately slow guide. We add places one at a time, after someone local has actually been. We write the trail stats down after walking them, because a wrong elevation number is how somebody ends up in trouble at dusk on a ridge.

If it stays useful and stays honest, it is doing its job. If you run a place here, or you know one we’ve missed, the door is open.

How We Keep It Honest

No Paid Placements

Nobody can buy a listing, a ranking, or a spotlight slot. If that ever changes, it will be labeled in plain language on every affected page.

Independent and Local Only

We list businesses owned by people who live here. No national chains, no franchise locations, no absentee ownership.

Verified in Person

Somebody local eats there, shops there, or walks the trail before it goes up. Trail stats are measured, not copied from a map site.

Owners Keep the Upside

We link straight to a business's own site and booking, never through an affiliate or a commission-taking middleman.
